Loft Ithaka is a private two-bedroom villa tucked into the lush landscape of Pejeng, around ten minutes from Ubud. Designed as a home rather than a hotel, its industrial frame opens almost completely to the garden, pool and surrounding greenery.

The steel structure and oversized openings give the house its loft character, while curtains, timber, woven pieces and planting soften the architecture. From the main living space, the jungle is always part of the view.

Loft Ithaka architecture framed by mature tropical trees

Loft Ithaka pairs a strong architectural shell with warm, tactile pieces collected across Indonesia. The result is contemporary without being polished, and distinctive without feeling staged.

Concrete, steel and glass sit beside timber, rattan, handmade objects and tribal pieces. The house is intentionally open, so the changing light, trees and weather become part of the design.

The story behind Loft Ithaka

The destination matters.
The journey, perhaps more.

Ithaka is the Greek island Odysseus longs to return to in Homer’s Odyssey. But the meaning of Ithaka reaches beyond the destination itself: the journey changes us through what we discover, experience and become along the way.

That idea sits behind Loft Ithaka. It was created not simply as a place to arrive, but as a place to slow down, reconnect with the present and enjoy the journey itself.
